YOUTH CREW
High-school to college-aged volunteers.
With the objective of becoming strong leaders, the Youth Crew participates in a number of events and projects that serve the Sacramento area. Participation yields many rewards: involvement with local government, valuable real-life experience, and interactions with people from all walks of life.
P.L.A.Y
Middle-school to college-aged volunteers
Started in 2012, PLAY volunteers learn, apply, and teach park
maintenance skills in their local parks. With hundreds of participants annually, PLAY impacts how our community interacts with our parks: there is less graffiti, littering, and vandalism and more beauty, preservation, and community members willing to adopt parks.
YOUTH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Middle-school to college-aged volunteers
The YWFD branch of YAC was created to develop work skills and build a network of support that creates pathways to employment and higher education for the participants. We aim to engage youth into city programs and volunteer activities to encourage civic engagement, empowerment, family participation, job readiness, and conflict resolution.
